Oracle eAM Assessment Package

A proposed agenda and set of deliverables for a 7-10 day assessment and eAM client evaluation:

  1. Discover and define the project scope - With principal stakeholders and sponsors, discuss the extent of the deployment of eAM (which features) throughout the company's operations (who is effected). Included is a review of the major phases and implementation tracks required for full implementation.

Using a Lorient Consulting developed eAM questionnaire an Oracle eAM Project Manager will work through each of the required items for project scope. A sample of some of the major points will be discussed:

What asset and MRO data can or might be migrated to the new system and how will the data be migrated?

A review of the corporation's sensitivities regarding a corporate wide rollout or individual site implementation. How will the product be rolled out to the users?

What functionality in Oracle eAM suits our needs, what functionality does not? To what extent will the company take advantage of the product? What portions of the eAM module will be phased in or ignored?

    Deliverable: Approved project scoping document
  2. Project Charter - Perform a formal project planning workshop with principal sponsors, managers and some selected end users. This activity re-defines the scope, develops the critical business requirements, risks, constraints, resources, timing, and other implementation requirements.

Deliverable: Approved and documented eAM project charter
  3. High Level Business Requirements Assessment - compare the Oracle eAM features to the future/current client processes for maintenance and asset management activities. Assess the users/managers needs and compare to the eAM solution. Meet with each of the principal users of eAM including maintenance managers, planners, supervisors, inventory and purchasing (supply chain) managers to formulate or define their requirements. This event is controlled and conducted using a Lorient produced specific eAM questionnaire.

Deliverable: Oracle eAM questionnaire with responses for all functions and business requirements
  4. An eAM Specific Project Plan - a detailed look at the timing, the personnel and specific tasks required to accomplish a quality implementation. Discuss and document the job categories, proposed personnel, job activities, specific tasks, training requirements, and go live event. Included in the discussion is a review of the chosen implementation methodology, time frames, budgets and personnel requirements.

The developed project plan includes the resource requirements, schedule and line item cost for complete installation, data migration, configuration, integration, testing, application training and go live. A project charter if required, includes the evaluation of risks, project costs, related benefits, future and current KPIs, and change management requirements.

The design and implementation phases includes a complete data migration strategy for multiple sites, application configuration & training, testing, validation, go live and post go live quality support.

Deliverable: Oracle eAM project plan specific to industry, site requirements, company, budget, timing and personnel availability.
  5. Demo - Demo the eAM product to view how Oracle has developed full CMMS/EAM functionality into their integrated product offering.

Deliverable: a complete review of the product's Oracle Forms and Self Service Apps.
